What is Kava and  ‘AWA2O?
Kava (or ‘AWA in Hawaiian) is an attractive plant that is indigenous to Oceania.  Known botanically as P. methysticum, the active ingredients from the ‘AWA plant are called kavalactones.  ‘AWA2O is a unique beverage that features the best Hawaiian kava extracted with the upmost care and infused into a powerfully smooth and delicious profile.

What is the history behind ‘AWA?
‘AWA has been consumed throughout Oceania for generations for social, medicinal, and cultural purposes.  Traditionally imbibed to promote peace and tranquility, ‘AWA was also believed to connect humans with their gods and ancestors.  Thus ‘AWA acted as a portal through which spiritual knowledge and inspiration was passed on through generations. I heard there is a controversy about kava hurting the liver?
Contradictory to the experience of South Pacific islanders who have safely used ‘AWA for many hundreds of years; alleged liver toxicity cases surfaced from Europe in 2001.  The cases sited by the government authorities that can actually be attributed to ‘AWA alone is very low. Researchers believe that improper parts of the kava plant (aerial parts such as leaves and stems) were being used whereas safe traditional uses utilize the kava root.

Can I drink ‘AWA with alcohol?
The synergistic effect observed in brain tissue penetration suggests that ingestion of other drugs like alcohol may affect the concentration of kavalactones in the brain. Drinking ‘AWA with alcohol may increase alcoholic effects. With this being said, common side affects of alcohol such as vomiting may occur more readily if consumed together. Thus, it is advisable to drink responsibly.

How much ‘AWA should I drink?
As with other herbs and libations, ‘AWA may have different effects upon different people. Our suggested serving sizes are for the average consumer - some may feel that they want to drink more and other may drink less.
